| | Gallstones |
| | The Gallbladder is where bile collects and is excreted into the intestines, |
| | where it aids in fat digestion. Sometimes the balance of the bile compounds is |
| | upset and tiny solid particles form in the gallbladder called gallstones. These |
| | tiny particles may grow as more material is deposited around them. Between |
| | one third and one half of these gallstones do not produce any symptoms. In |
| | others the symptoms vary between pain in the abdomen ad pain in the |
| | shoulder blades. Over a period of hours the pain usually builds and then fade. |
| | Some patients suffer bouts of vomiting. |
| | Lecithin
Vitamin C Bran |
| | Lecithin is rich in phospholipids which prevent fats from clumping together. |
| | Vitamin C has been shown to be an important link in conversion of cholesterol |
| | into bile acids. Extra fiber rich Bran may also help prevent or treat gallstones. |
| | In less developed countries where the levels of dietary fiber is extremely high |
| | gallstones are very rare. |
