| | Eczema is a specific form of dermatitis. It is an internally provoked |
| | inflammation of the skin, usually due to allergies. Dermatitis also includes |
| | conditions that are caused by external factors such as sunburn and allergenic |
| | rashes. Eczema symptoms include redness and flaking or blistering of the |
| | skin which becomes thickened and changes color over time. Any moist folds |
| | of the skin are common areas that become inflamed, flaky and itchy such as |
| | the creases of the nose and corners of the mouth. Eczema tends to run in |
| | families and comes and goes over several years. |
